Profile
Having started as a psychiatrist in Minsk, Belarus, over 20 years ago, I built a career as a practitioner, associate professor, and researcher with a doctoral study on the genetic and environmental factors in serious mental illness. In the USA, I completed a comprehensive psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute, NYC.
This experience has helped me to realise that while medical knowledge is essential, it’s the therapeutic process itself that creates profound and lasting change.
MY VALUES
Remember asking yourself, “What do I want to be when I grow up?”
In my practice, I believe that therapy offers us a powerful chance to revisit this question not merely as a memory but as a source for change. By reconnecting with your desires and reviewing them in light of the current circumstances, we can bridge the gap between who you are today and who you truly want to be.
These shifts require emotional connections with other human beings as a fundamental necessity from the first breath to our last.
HOW I WORK
Together, we’ll create a conversation that moves you forward with purpose. I offer a thoughtful space where we can find clarity and meaning, especially when you’re facing the weight of depression or the overwhelm of anxiety. We’ll uncover the patterns (e.g., cycles of isolation or self-criticism) that may be holding you back, and discover new ways to navigate them. My approach helps you honor your past while building a meaningful future that feels yours authentically.
I WORK WITH:
- Teenagers and Young Adults: Navigating identity, purpose, and the transition into adulthood.
- Adults in Transition: Addressing depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, or questioning “what’s next.”
- High-Impact Professionals: Managing the pressures of leadership, high-stakes decisions, or the integration of professional ambition with personal values
- Older Adults: Finding meaning and support through the challenges of aging, loss, health problems, or retirement.
- Individuals with Complex Mental Health Needs and Their Families: Providing deep therapeutic support and recommendations for serious conditions through a psychiatric lens (non-prescribing),
- Expatriates and Immigrants: Integrating the strongest parts of the psyche when living between the past and the future.
- Those Seeking Independence: Helping people find their own voice and personal agency.
- Anyone seeking deeper self-understanding beyond symptom relief.
I offer therapy in both English and Russian. Sometimes, our most authentic feelings come to the surface when we speak in our mother tongue. Being able to express yourself in your native language can be profoundly liberating and meaningful.
Rebuilding my career from the ground up, I truly understand the weight of starting over. I help you to integrate the best parts of your past into the future.
