The foundation of my work with clients is a deep respect for each individual.
I work with children and adults with a variety of concerns. The most common difficulties people identify are depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. In children, difficulties may be expressed in behaviors such as withdrawal, aggression, fearfulness, or outbursts that are perplexing to the adults who love them.
I focus on understanding you or your child and your situation. The better I come to know you, the better I can draw on my own knowledge, experience, and insight to support you in making the change you want in your life. I draw on multiple models (psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, systems, neurological, and others) to help us understand what you are experiencing. Sometimes seeing your situation from a new angle can make all the difference.
Based on your strengths and interests, we may pay attention to thought patterns, explore attachment needs, work in the sand tray, uncover intergenerational patterns, process experience through art, develop new life narratives, or use guided meditation.
My decision to retire from the practice of law and become a psychotherapist was heavily influenced by Judaism. I am inspired by the Torah’s spirit of deep respect for each individual and for human relationships.
