I have worked and played in Alaska for over 7 years. My work has taken me from guiding sea kayaking trips on Sugpiaq lands and waters in Kenai Fjords National Park, to working in the emergency department of a hospital on Yup’ik lands in Bethel, to working as a rural clinician on Unangan lands on St. Paul Island, to Ahtna lands in Chickaloon, to Dena’ina lands in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. I have worked at all levels of the mental health care continuum, from outpatient community mental health to residential co-occuring disorder treatment centers to inpatient psychiatric hospitals to Riker’s Island jail in New York City. My educational background is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from Columbia University, Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Outdoor Educator, and Leave No Trace Master Educator certificates from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and other wilderness safety and risk assessment training and coursework. I have worked as an outdoors guide in New Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska for a cumulative 6 years. Through all of this bouncing around, I have learned that the most powerful healer is oneself, and the most powerful healing environment is nature.
My goal is your goal. I work with my clients to support them in healing themselves, honing their skills, and growing into the version of themselves they envision.
