Dr. Emily Gordon is a licensed clinical psychologist located in Natick, MA and has been in private practice for 20+ years. Dr. Gordon attended Northwestern University and then completed Masters and Doctoral degrees at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She was a post-doctoral fellow at McLean Hospital in Child & Adolescent Psychology, and then stayed on at McLean in leadership positions in the Adolescent Residential Treatment Program and at the Klarman Center for Eating Disorders. While at McLean, Dr. Gordon held an appointment at Harvard Medical School for 15 years and supervised psychology and social work trainees in several programs.
Emily is an experienced clinician with expertise in treating teens, young adults and adults. She specializes in treating eating disorders and body image disturbances, and as well as mood, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and parenting through adolesence and young adulthood. In her work, she helps parents, providers, and teens themselves understand adolescent development and how to navigate the challenges of this unique time with resilience, hope and effective skills.
Dr. Gordon’s gift is in balancing insight and understanding with skills and practical tools for change. She is an expert in adolescent development and believes that people always have the capacity to grow and change. Emily believes psychotherapy is most effective within the context of a trusting relationship and she works hard to establish that with each individual.
