Profile

Brooke is the founder of Sawtelle Psychotherapy Group and a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist and behavioral therapy expert. She works with older adolescents and those in their 20s and 30s experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, relationship difficulties, uncertainty about values or next steps in life, and critical self-talk.

Brooke’s clients are high achievers, perfectionists, and — on paper — seem to have everything figured out. She’s passionate about giving her clients a safe and nurturing space to be flawed and to prioritize their mental health so that they can enjoy the life they’ve worked so hard to build.

Originally from the east coast, Brooke loves taking advantage of all the outdoor activities California has to offer. When she’s not in session with clients, she’s either supervising other kick-ass therapists, reading, or teaching her rescue pup Remy new tricks.

Education and Training

Brooke completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University in Montréal, Canada and studied Sociology and International Development Studies, and went on to attend the Columbia University School of Social Work. There, she was accepted into a year-long Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training Program and Lab, the only program of its kind in a school of social work. Throughout that year she received intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech and completed her clinical internship at the NYU Child Study Center. Brooke went on to practice comprehensive DBT for several years before opening her private practice.

Brooke is trained in several other evidence-based behavioral therapies and modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Enhanced for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), among others.

Brooke works with clients in-person in West LA and virtually with those located in California, New York, Florida, and Maine.
