When did you last feel like yourself?
For a lot of people, something shifts – a new baby, a relationship change, a chapter that ended before you were ready – and suddenly the person you knew so well feels a little out of reach. Maybe intimacy is harder than it used to be. Maybe you’re carrying joy and grief at the same time and not sure how to hold both. If you’ve grown up holding the weight of family, community, and expectation alongside your own needs, that feeling can run especially deep.
That in-between space, the both/and of life’s transitions, is exactly where I work.
Here’s what you should know about me: I give big sister energy. I’m warm, direct, and genuinely hard to shock. If you’ve been waiting for a therapist who gets the cultural context and can also talk openly about sex, desire, identity, or anything that felt like too much for polite conversation – I’m your person. I won’t flinch.
Everyone comes in with a different story, so I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Think of it like a toolbox – I draw on psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and family systems frameworks, and bring in CBT and motivational interviewing when they fit. I’m also a licensed social worker in the process of becoming a licensed sex therapist, so sexuality and mental health are the same conversation in my practice.
Before therapy, I spent ten years teaching in inclusive middle school classrooms, which taught me that people open up in their own way, on their own timeline.
You don’t have to have it figured out before we start. That’s what we’re here for.
