Shannon is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a clinical emphasis in neurodivergence and substance use disorders. Currently working at California State University, Chico, she conducts individual, group, and crisis sessions for enrolled students. She currently serves on the Chico State Neurodiversity and Disability Task Force, and coordinates the on-campus I CAN HELP: Suicide Prevention trainings for faculty, staff, and students.
She was born and raised in Michigan and was identified as Autistic and ADHD as an adult, which has given her unique insights and perspectives in her work with students. Shannon’s personal experiences with neurodivergence have given her a deep understanding of the struggles her clients face, and she strives to create a safe and welcoming space for them to heal and grow. Outside of work, Shannon enjoys crafting and discussing current events with friends and family. She is happily married and has two children who keep her busy when she’s not in the office.
