My name is Nicole Kaplan, LCSW, specializing in working with older adults/couples and Adult children caring for a relative/parent with Dementia or other issues related to aging. I also have expertise working with families caring for an older adult with an Intellectual Disability. I have been working in Elder Care both as a Clinician and a Consultant in matters related to care planning, long term care, caregiver training, driving issues. I also have extensive experience and knowledge of community resources geared towards older adults in the City/County of Los Angeles.
I am dedicated to helping those who are depressed, suffering from anxiety, health issues that affect functional status. I have worked in Home Care/Hospice therefore Grief/Bereavement are a part of my expertise. I offer a warm, emphatic, non-judgemental, supportive environment for my clients. I have a strong interest in working with individuals who are of the Jewish faith. I grew up with a strong Jewish background and understand customs/culture of my faith. I lived in Israel and practiced Social Work with immigrants who made Aliyah to Israel.
The modalities that I use in my work are Reminiscence, Humanistic, Life Review and ACT Therapy (Acceptance and Commitment).
