Profile
Hello! I use she/her pronouns. Growing up in Brooklyn, NYC as a queer Jewish-Ukrainian refugee, I’ve spent a lot of time learning and unlearning the narratives surrounding structures of identity in America. This caused a lot of big, awe-inspiring, challenging, painful, and contrasting experiences for me. This also led to a later diagnosis of ADHD, which has both been a relief and an added layer of complexity in my continued journey to growth, joy, dreaming, and rest.
I work extensively with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in my therapeutic practice. Together, we’ll build a relational therapeutic approach to a supportive, honest, and transformative connection. While this includes an intentional use of evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), it also means leaning on humor, rapport-building, honesty and a client-centered, humanistic lens to the therapy process. I also often incorporate body-aware somatic frameworks such as Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing. Additionally, I aim to remain aware of the systems of oppression that depend on misogyny, ableism, racism, classism, antisemitism, and additional social locations, and I continue to consider their impact on our notions of self and how this shows up in our therapeutic work.
For folks curious about my specialties, they include the intersections within the perinatal period for queer folks (TTC, pregnancy, postpartum, loss, birth trauma, and more), queer families and families with transgender, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary (TGNCNB) youth, relationships including poly/nm relationships, neurodivergence and queer experiences, sexual wellness, kink and sex positivity, chronic pain and chronic illness. Additionally, I work frequently with those who have experienced domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, gender-based violence and other forms of trauma.
When not working, I’m in nature hiking, foraging or camping, doing tons of professional and personal learning, hanging with my loved ones, seeing art and making (not-so-perfect) art and crafts, photography, engaging with movement (dancing, long walks, bike rides, exercise), traveling, 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy, reading, and/or enjoying slow days.
