Hello. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York City. My concept of therapy embraces the full richness of human experience. As such, I enjoy working with clients from diverse walks of life, addressing a variety of challenges. I often work with those dealing with life-transitions, such as: relationship changes, loss and grief, emerging adulthood, and career shifts. I have additional training in addictions counseling (CASAC) and trauma work and one of my interests is the interplay between addiction and trauma. I’m trained in psychedelic harm-reduction and integration, helping those who choose to utilize these substances to make meaning of their experience and consolidate their takeaways. And I particularly enjoy working with other therapists and those in the helping professions, frequently addressing the challenges inherent to working within these fields.
I began my professional career working in a Jewish community mental health clinic, and continue to work with the community in my current practice. I work with individuals across the spectrum of religious practices, and strongly recognize the significance of spirituality in our lives. I have assisted patients in discovering their unique expressions of religion and spirituality and have often found it to be a rewarding and important part of the therapeutic process. Though I believe a religious life infused with passion and connection is more fulfilling and durable than one based on guilt and shame, I approach each person’s spiritual journey with respect, and refrain from imposing my own perspective. I strive to maintain a space that acknowledges the range of joys and (sometimes) frustrations of being Jewish and living within a Jewish community.
