Depression, anxiety, anger: sometimes our feelings can be confusing and overwhelming. Struggles at home and work increase when we’re not sure how we feel or what to do with our feelings. Our relationships suffer, we don’t feel happy and content, and we may wonder if there will ever be improvement. These feelings are often more intense for people who have experienced significant trauma or loss. Figuring out how to seek help and talk about these issues can be difficult.
I have worked extensively with adults and couples from a range of backgrounds with these and similar difficulties. My primary approach is interpersonal and emotion-focused, evidence-based and supported by research, delivered in a warm and personal style. My goal is to help you feel better and develop the tools and confidence to actualize your best self. We will develop a treatment plan together that fits your unique circumstances and needs.
I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years. I have held academic and governmental leadership positions and have provided supervision and training to doctoral and postdoctoral students. I primarily treat depression, anxiety, and trauma, and offer both individual and couples therapy. Some special areas of expertise include military veterans, first responders, and their families. I have treated female and male victims of sexual abuse, Jewish refugees, and those who were in religious cults. I enjoy working with professionals and graduate students in helping professions. I offer all treatment via secure telehealth and am licensed in NY, TN, and via PSYPACT (https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap).
