You are used to feeling invalidated. Your trauma isn’t so bad. People tell you not to be so anxious. “Just get over it.” We all try to be “strong,” but what does that mean anyway. My goal is to support you in your journey to appreciate the wholeness of your system. It is there and doing what it has been designed to do. Through validation and understanding, your system can feel appreciated. You can, not only be whole, but feel whole.
I specialize in supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, OCD, and other types of system overwhelm. From a high school student anxious about school and friends to adults recovering from childhood or work trauma, my place is to provide the support that the client needs. I also specialize in supporting first responders and those recovering from religious harm/trauma.
As a therapist, I prefer to utilize a non-pathologizing lens. This means that I don’t focus heavily on diagnosis. Rather, my focus is on client goals and how they can live the life that they want. I prefer modalities such as Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing. I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety, and Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) for OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and Social Anxiety.
About me as a person: During my off hours, you are likely to find me with my family. I love playing and listening to music and singing. As a family, we love to pick fruit at orchards, garden, go to amusement parks, and travel.
