Tashlich at Sunset

An embodied gathering for Jewish therapists, academics, and leaders. Join us on Sunday, September 28th, for an exclusive chartered cruise out of Marina del Rey.

Together for Tashlich

In years past, the Jewish Therapist Collective has come together for this powerful, unique experience virtually, on Zoom. It’s become a beloved marker of season on our calendar, looked forward to by our global community.

As our community continues to navigate unprecented contexts, the call to come together in person is more resonant than ever. And so too, our yearning for connection and community has brought new friendships and pathways of collaboration to our shores. We are so delighted that our maiden voyage to take this beloved Tashlich tradition to the water is setting sail in partnership with the Jewish Faculty Resilience Group!

Join us at Marina del Rey in Southern California for this bespoke event on a chartered yacht at golden hour, attuning to the vibes of the sea.

What makes this Tashlich experience unique?

Our Jewish legacy guides us to experience the world around us in many layers at once. As therapists, we’re constantly tracking and connecting with the many moving parts of the client’s experience: relationally, cognitively, symbolically, etc. And as academics, innovators, and leaders, we also attune to the lasting impact our work makes to emerging graduates and professionals the world over.

As ethical stewards of care and learning, we also have an eye on ourselves, both on and off the clock. How did we show up? Where might we have missed the mark? How could we have done better? We move through it in reflection, solo or with colleagues… but there is always a bit that stays with us.

Tashlich calls us to the water: to reflect, release, and re-emerge for the year ahead. We gather not just to cast off the burdens upon our shoulders, but to hold close our growth and moments of light and connection. To acknowledge the ways we’ve stretched, softened, and survived – as trusted stewards and as Jews in 2025.

As the boat glides across the harbor, we’ll join in song, prayer, embodied practices, and moments of reflection. Our guides will offer a special ritual to help us hold and then release the layered grief of recent years. In the final half hour, the sun will begin its descent – and with it, we’ll let go, releasing our most persistent what-ifs and stickiest self-judgments.

The voyage includes tray-passed appetizers and refreshments and the opportunity to connect over depth and laughter, as well as quiet reflection.
