Jewish Allies & Aspiring Allies

Resources for therapists and community leaders who want to show up for the Jewish community more supportively.

While our primary mission serves Jewish mental health clinicians and therapy seekers, we’ve increasingly experienced requests for consult from colleagues and outside organizations needing to build competency with understanding and supporting Jewish individuals and community. Over the better part of the last decade, we’ve become the go-to community for many who need specialized consultation, mentoring and education at the intersection of Jewish identity and mental health care.

Consultation & Speaker Services

Engage our expertise... Navigating an ethical struggle, required by your board or employer to obtain cultural competency consultation, or looking to dig deep and overcome cultural gaps and biases? We are happy to offer you 1-1 consultation, either as a stand-alone experience or part of a larger package. Fielded by seasoned clinicians with expertise in their practice or research niche and a deep connection to Jewish identity and competencies, our consultations are completely confidential.

Invite us to speak at your event, for your class, or at your retreat… We provide consultation, process facilitation, and workshops to group practices, healthcare agencies, colleges and universities, and corporate HR/DEI offices. Let us know!

Drop-In Community Consultation

Ask a Jewish Therapist: A nonjudgmental space for you to learn from Jewish colleagues.

Do you have questions about Jewish cultural competency in your clinical, educational, or advocacy-related work? Afraid to ask these questions for fear of facing auxiliary antisemitism for caring about our community, criticism for not knowing what you don’t know, or the very real fear of spending scarce consultation resources on an “expert” who doesn’t provide the support and tangible help/information you need? Come to “Ask Your Jewish Colleagues.” It’s a friendly and safe space where you won’t be pitched/sold at, criticized at the expense of learning, or shamed/harmed for caring and trying. This weekly 60-minute drop-in group meets regularly on Fridays at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern.

Concepts We Cover
  • Cultural Competency: Understanding where the Jewish community and your specific Jewish clients/peers fit in the greater cultural milieu.
  • Active & Embodied Allyship: Learn how to show up for Jewish needs and interests both within and beyond the counseling room. And learn how to care for yourself when your bravery and solidarity are met with hostility.
  • Applied DEI & Social Justice: Re-orient to the concepts and values you learned in grad school or the corporate sphere but apply them consistently and with attunement to Jewish identity.
  • Familiarize with Resources: Get a lay of the land, learning what spaces and resources are safe for Jewish participants, as well as how to ascertain inclusivity and potential harm.
  • Continuing Education & Hiring Practices: Learn how to create a welcoming and supportive space for Jewish jobseekers, staff, and training participants.

Your learning helps us fullfill our mission! We appreciate the interest and inclusive values that brought you to our site and are looking forward to connecting. We also have an events calendar that you may be interested in viewing… most events are Jewish-only affinity spaces, but some are open to the greater clinical community that you’re welcome to join!
