Israel 2025 – A Deeper Exploration

It’s time to come home: to ourselves, our heritage, and to our guiding values.

June 26th – July 2nd, 2025

Hidden Narratives: Illuminated

Jewish Star Colorful - Therapists CollectiveWe are a storied people with a legacy that, while rich with resiliency, transcends the overcoming of trauma. We are people of knowledge, folklore, light, and vibrancy. In times of overwhelming distress, the whisper of wisdom and the sweet song of Jewish joy are easily displaced by the urgency of crisis—in ourselves, our communities, and our clients.

As therapists, we are called upon for advice, relief, and support. We’re tasked with guiding our clients to find their own North Star again–to find their footing and their voice. We’ve been “all hands on deck” for well over a year. Therapists, especially Jewish therapists, deserve the same open arms and warm space for restorative delights that tether us to our heritage, our values, and our why.

Join us, on a journey unlike any other. A thoughtfully balanced itinerary blends immersive tourism, rich learning (with CEUs), a soulful retreat, and spiritual homecoming with nights split between Jerusalem and a nature-showcasing resort in near the Kineret (Galilee).

Informed by Experience

Nearly 50 of us arrived home from our first JTC Journey to Israel in December 2024 with wildly positive reflections and memories that will last a lifetime. As an immersive Chanukah learning program, “Lighting the Way Through Trauma,” the itinerary balanced conference-style learning with immersive experiences with trauma survivors and their communities as well as connecting with local therapists and a taste of the vibrancy of Israel. We’ve integrated the feedback to build upon what worked well and further dial in other details to make this next journel to Israel even better.

The two main pieces of feedback were (1) “we want to go again, and for longer this time!” And (2) “please figure out a way to allow our loved ones to join in while still preserving therapist-focused and therapist-only spaces.”

We listened to that feedback and we also decided to lean farther into our therapist sensibilities and longstanding vantage point of curiosity, idealism, and Jewish Joy as we crafted this next adventure together. Some key notes…

  • We now officially have a clinician-specific track and one tailored for companions and other Jewish journey-makers who know how nurturing it will be to join a therapist-curated experience like this. We’ve worked hard to create something that holds space for each track’s soul-level nourishment while still traveling together and experiencing Jewish Joy, resiliency, and nature as one.
  • We’re expanding from 4 days to 7, inclusive of Shabbat, so we can take time to breathe, get deeper, and take in more of what and who we’re visiting. This offers a pace that, while still rich with varied experiences, allows us to connect and be present with unique places and people, as well as bespoke activities – and far less need to “recover” from an overfull time in Israel.
  • Our itenerary takes us North to a resort overlooking the Kineret (Galilee), for a breathtaking change of scenery, connection with nature, and then a chance to hold space for and support several overlooked communities coping with the aftermath of recent times.
  • Learning is amazing, and it’s both deeply embedded in our culture and in our needs as therapists. This time, though, we’re trading much of the conference-style learning for even more art-based and immersive, collaborative, and informal structures.
  • Beyond just “meeting” our colleagues and counterparts in Israel, we are going to be facilitating dedicated experiences to better understand what life is like for them: clinical practice, service to community, and navigating academic boycotts in the diaspora.
