A Word From Our Trainer

“Brainspotting is a cutting-edge neuro-experiential based approach that promotes deep healing. It is a brain-based therapy based on the hypothesis that specific eye positions designated as “brainspots” activate and access specific areas of the midbrain that allow for the reprocessing and releasing of core neurophysiological reactions to trauma-related and other psychological experiences.

In addition, Brainspotting is built on a model that emphasizes therapist-client presence and attunement in the healing process. As an open and integrative model, Brainspotting is adaptable to many different areas of specialization and can be integrated with other treatment models.”

ABOUT JANA GLASS, LPC (Georgia)
Jana is a highly sought-after therapist educator, consultant and trainer.  Her expertise spans perinatal mental health, addictions, and the vast array of trauma.  A justice and equity-aligned professional, Jana is a fellow Jewish therapist who has stepped up to offer this training so our community can learn and grow as professionals with shared vantage points, in the safety and bravery of an affinity space.

About Brainspotting Phase 2 Training

We’ll be covering the full contents of the official Brainspotting Phase 2 curriculum while including Jewish community-based experiences that impact both clients and clinicians—something you won’t get elsewhere.

This 5-day Brainspotting Phase 2 training for The Jewish Therapist Collective will begin with an extensive review of Phase 1 techniques of Outside and Inside Window Brainspotting and Gazespotting, with an emphasis on the foundational skills valued in Brainspotting approach to increase attunement and connection with clients.

Attendees will be introduced to several Brainspotting applications that assist with client regulation and resourcing. All examples, demonstrations, and practicum will be through the lens of being Jewish and the unique perspectives, strengths, and challenges that will emanate from the participants and the clients they serve.

What makes the JTC's Brainspotting experience so unique?

We are deeply honored and grateful to have seasoned trainer Jana Glass, LPC, PMH-C, MAC, BC-TMH, who also rolls up her sleves regularly to emply this framework in her clinical practice. She pairs her seasoned clinical lens with a deep and longstanding passion for supporting Jewish participants in integrating an embodied learning experience in her trainings.

Additionally, the Jewish Therapist Collective is an advocacy and community support organization that has been serving therapists and the clients we care about for the better part of a decade. While our non-revenue-generating resources for the community have been going for quite some time, we realized after much desire from the community, that Jewish therapists are looking to build community and learn in spaces where our dignity and identities are respected.

So, we were and are at the forefront of bringing seasoned, powerhouse trainers and leaders to the community for clinical and cultural learning. We bring a legacy of care and advocacy experience, as well as a lens of Jewish-affirming competence (which is more than just being Jewish) to everything we do, and pair it with incredible training. You also have the benefit of knowing that revenue, which is not excessive due to us keeping costs to attendees low, also advances our advocacy and community-building work!

-I loved learning about Brainspotting from Jana, who is so passionate and experienced in guiding clients through this process. It was amazing to watch her lead the demos and hear her thoughtful answers to questions.

-I felt so connected with the other clinicians and felt not only that I learned an incredible amount, but also that I was able to engage in my own healing (which I was not expecting!).

-I loved pretty much every facet of this training--Jana, the safe Jewish cohort, Jewish themes applied in demo and content, I now love Brainspotting!
